PRACTICE / 2026

I build systems, tools, environments, and artifacts to explore how people, machines, memory, media, and place interact.

A living field station for Match Zimmerman Creative Media Group — an artist-led studio and research practice across sound, image, artificial intelligence, archives, learning, and speculative environments.

01 / SELECTED WORK

Six entry points into the practice.

Not a complete portfolio. A compressed front door. Each work opens outward into process, systems, artifacts, and related research.

02 / RESEARCH

Working models, protocols, and questions.

Research stays versioned and provisional. The point is not to disguise working thought as settled theory, but to make the inquiry inspectable.

WORKING MODEL · V0.4

HARIL

What happens when cognition becomes distributed across a person, an AI system, external memory, tools, and repeated interaction?

R/02

PROCESS FRAMEWORK

PIECE

Perception → Inquiry → Exploration → Compression → Expansion. A method for moving through creative and research ecosystems without forcing premature outcomes.

R/03

THESIS / ACTIVE

Compression + Representation

Rich human activity becomes compressed into grades, portfolios, résumés, albums, and metrics—then feedback causes people to optimize for the representation.

R/04

RELEASE MODEL

Tool → Work → Documentation → Distribution

Build the instrument, make something with it, document the inquiry, then release the tool alongside the work so others can enter the same system.

03 / ARCHIVE

Evidence, not leftovers.

Every item can enter the public record at the level it actually occupies. A study does not need to pretend to be a finished work.

04 / FIELD NOTES

Thinking in public, while it is still moving.

Fragments, questions, diagrams, failures, and observations. A lower-friction public surface for the practice while it is still moving.

13 SEP 2026

A release is not the end of the inquiry.

It is how the inquiry acquires an outside.

NOTE / RELEASE PRACTICE

12 SEP 2026

Compression is not the enemy.

The problem begins when the representation starts reorganizing the life that produced it.

NOTE / CYBERNETICS

11 SEP 2026

The documented exploration can be the finished work.

Seventy-five sonic studies may say more than one definitive mix.

05 / INFO

Match Zimmerman Creative Media Group is the artist-led studio and research practice of Match Zimmerman.

The studio moves through systems rather than disciplines, using sound, image, code, artificial intelligence, archives, pedagogy, physical interfaces, and speculative environments as materials for inquiry.
